We Have Leadership

It is impossible not be affected by the world economic situation from which our dear Mexico is not exempt. However, is in these times when positive, prosperous, including, and proactive leaders are needed, leaders that can identify opportunities that can only be detected by those who are ready and won’t give up facing conflicts and problems no matter how difficult they may seem. But without a doubt, they must also have the maturity for listening and the experience for choosing the best objectives. It requires character and courage not to intervene or meddle in functions delegated to others, this is how cohesion is reached and it must prevail in teamwork
 
Our current President has stated many times in his participation in sectional events as well as when he has been invited to forums and press conferences, that “we need to recognize the crisis, but we must remember that we have always overcome them; we will get out of this one as long as we recognize and identify opportunities and work on them”. And with actions undertaken, he has been consistent with his words so let me share with you those that in my opinion are worth sharing:

1.- National Unit through a greater and better communication. The contents of this Newsletter have been well accepted from the beginning, and we have been witnesses that it has fulfilled its mission: being read; it invites us to participate sending opinions, critiques and recommendations. Through our newsletter we have been able to learn about what is going on in other sections, this strengthens us for the simple fact of knowing that we are a great AMPI family at a national level.

2.- Training. Important personalities, publishers, sociologists, etc., have insisted repeatedly that in these times of economic crisis, education, training and continuous research must be retaken and exploited so we can be prepared to detect opportunities to get out of such crisis. It is important to stress this point starting by doing an inventory of the many institutionalized courses in many sections looking to have a national homologation in the near future...

We emphasize these two initiatives already in progress; however, we assure you there are many more that we will soon have at our disposal so we can take out as much as we can from them.
We know mistakes have been made, we also don’t deny there will be different opinions. Let them be known, let’s recognize in the meantime that we will succeed by working as a team with clear objectives, articulate planning, and above all with a long term vision that goes farther than the end our your management.

Meanwhile, let’s accept that it is better to correct an error than no action at all. The challenge for our current president and for future presidents will be to humbly understand that we are an association of leaders and what is really difficult is to be the leader of leaders, don’t you think?

For all of the above, I suggest we keep supporting with resolution he who through concrete actions has shown vision, mission, value, commitment, and respect for the action of those who by his side work in benefit of our dear AMPI.
